About Pygame

Pygame is a set of modules for the Python programming language to facilitate the development of games.

Both Python and Pygame are released under open-source licenses which allow them to be used for applications intended for free distribution, shareware distribution, or even commercial distribution.  You can develop a game with Pygame and Python, and then sell it for commercial gain.  Please see the respective Python license and Pygame license for details.
