Installing POV-Ray on Windows

32-bit Windows

Download the 32-bit Installer

Either obtain the most recent version from the povray.org downloads page, or download the local copy used in these tutorials.

Run the Installer

• Run the installer, click 'Next'.
• Read the license, select 'I Agree' to agree to the license terms, click 'Next'.
• Choose an install location (the default value is usually fine), click 'Next'.
• Choose a backup location (the default value is usually fine), click 'Next'.
• Choose a program group name (the default value is usually fine), click 'Next'.
• Make sure the boxes for "Automatically Check For Updates" and "Include System Information" are both checked, and click 'Next'.
• Click 'Next', and Installation will start.

• Click 'Finish'

Run POV-Ray

Double-click the icon on your desktop, or start from the 'Start' menu program group which was added for you.  Click 'OK', click 'OK'.

Your should now see a screen like this:

64-bit AMD processor Windows

Follow the instructions above, but either use the AMD64 version from the downloads page, or use the local AMD64 installer.
