This is a very short animation/video made by a non-professional in his spare time.  His source of education on Blender was website tutorials like those you'll find linked to from here in the Tutorials section.

This can be played with VLC media player, which is an outstanding, free, multi-platform, Open Source video player released under the GPL license.
