About Blender
What is Blender, and what's in this section?
Blender is a tool set for creating 3D content including games and animations. It has been used to make commercials, movies, television shows, and 3D games.
Blender is open source, released under the GNU GPL. Blender has an FAQ on the GPL as it relates to Blender here. Generally, this license allows one to create animations, videos, and games which are then free to be distributed at the authors discretion regarding licensing, as these are considered program output, and not the program itself. Please see the FAQ or the GPL for further details.
This section will provide information about where to Download Blender (and provide mirrors), Tutorials on installation and use, and Examples of animations and games created using Blender. You can reach these sections by clicking the links in this paragraph, or by selecting them from the navigation pane to the left.
